Curbside Recycling
This is a weekly service provided to residents of the unincorporated areas of Jackson County. Place items in the recycling bin and put out to curbside when you put out your household garbage container for pickup.
Acceptable Items for Recycling Bins
- Newspapers and magazines
- Junk mail and paper
- Old phone books
- Clean, green and brown glass bottles and jars
- Aluminum, tin and steel cans
- Plastic bottles and jugs (All plastics number 1 through 7)
- Cardboard and cereal boxes (no waxed cardboard)
- Hot and cold beverage paper cups (Coffee cups with sleeves and soda cups)
- Plastic Cups made from polypropylene (PP) (Cold drink cups for soda and iced coffee)
Items Not Accepted in Recycling Bins
- Aerosol cans
- Aluminum foil or plates
- Any containers that contained engine oil, laundry detergent, antifreeze or any other such chemicals.
- Butter bowls and catalogs
- Ceramics
- Electronics
- Food containers
- Food waste
- Lids, straws, or stoppers
- Light bulbs
- Medical waste (needles, syringes, etc...)
- Mirrors
- Napkins/paper towels
- Plastic bags
- Plastic wrap
- Scrap metals
- Styrofoam (including foam cups)
- Waxed paper/cardboard
- Window glass
- Yard waste
- Rigid polystyrene (number 6)
Recycling drop-off service is available at the Seaman Road Landfill for some items not accepted by curbside.
